Welcome to DINING ALLIANCE BOSTON!
Welcome to Boston's premier web site for dining in the Boston area.
The Boston dining scene has it all: that bowl of rich clam chowder, oysters on the half shell, an Irish pub filled with history, or a cozy glass of red wine with your steak.
Visitors travel from around the world to enjoy the rich history of Boston. Along with that history comes a great dining experience from Cambridge to the Cape, the North End or South. It seems every little corner has everything you could ask for. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, Boston is second to none. If you are in the mood for a Guinness and a bite to eat, the city is brimming with Irish pubs. But of course, Boston is the seafood capital of the world. Thanks to the great harbor of Boston and its fishing resources the seafood dining experience is like no other.
What makes the dining scene so special in Boston? The people that make it happen. Boston is a city full of hard-working, independent restaurant people. Boston restaurateurs pride themselves on the unique history of their city and providing an experience only found at an independent restaurant.
By supporting your local independent restaurants, you are supporting your local community and the people of the Boston area. You're helping to preserve the rich history of a great city.
A Bit of History
On the evening of April 18, 1775, the British dispatched troops to the towns of Lexington and Concord outside, what is today, Boston to arrest Samuel Adams and John Hancock and to seize arms which the colonists were storing. Paul Revere rode through the night to warn the colonists of the approaching soldiers. The next morning, on Lexington Green, "the shot heard round the world" was fired, and the American Revolution began.
On the night of Game 4 October 27, 2004 there was a lunar eclipse. This time it was Derek Lowe with 7-shutout innings as the Red Sox were making the 2004 Fall Classic anti-climatic. In the 9th inning it would be closer Keith Foulke who would finish the 3-0 win by fielding a come backer from Edgar Renteriea and throwing on to 1st Baseman Doug Mientkiewicz as the Boston Red Sox had ended the curse, winning their first World Series since 1918, as Manny Ramirez who batted .412, was named series MVP.

"Before we joined Dining Alliance every month I was wrangling with the chef to determine why our food costs were so high. We had a 30% target and every month our costs were coming in over 35%. The first thing we did with the Dining Alliance was to switch to Pepsi and our costs went down 23%. Second, even though the Alliance chose my then-current produce vendor as our preferred vendor, my cost for produce went down between 20% and 25%. These savings continued as we chose a paper vendor, a meat vendor and a broadliner. I expect these savings to continue as we choose a dairy vendor, a linen company, etc. The end result is that for the last few months my food cost is under 27%. Annualized, I expect to save $75,000 to $100,000 directly as a result of my participation with the Dining Alliance. Over the next months and, perhaps years, as we endure this recession, it is going to be very difficult to increase sales. Therefore, it is even more important to control costs, and Dining Alliance will help us do that."
